That said...I think this was not a good shoot. If the facts as are we now understand them, regardless of prior acts at a convenience store, there were a number of ways this cop could have handled this situation. He could have tazed the kid. He could have maced the kid. He could have beat the spit out of the kid after he tazed and maced the kid. It does not appear the kid had a weapon...it does not appear the kid was able to get the cop's gun away from him. Bad shoot.

That said...the kid was a fucking idiot for laying hands on a police officer. If the kid had said "yes-sir", laid down in the street with his hands behind his back, been cuffed and hauled off to the lockup. The kid would be alive today. Do I think that warrants a death sentence carried out in the street? Of course not. But there are a number of reasons why this kid should not be dead today and most of them are due to his own stupidity, bad self-control, and apparently belligerent attitude.

PS - anybody here ever heard of Robert Cameron Redus? Maybe so, maybe not. If so...any of those here who heard of him ever post any report about what happened to Robert Cameron Redus? It appears not. Perhaps Robert would have received more fucking attention here if he were a poor black ghetto kid assassinated by racist totalitarian coppers.

What should have happened is that the cops should have seen the kids walking in the street and just drove on by around them, giving them the professional "cop wave" as they went by.
