Police are a broadsword not a scalpel.
1. I'm in a room full of potential minor victims.
2. The situation has deteriorated to the point I've been summoned.
3. My intervention criteria has already been met.
4. I don't get immediate compliance.
5. I'm doing this, solo, in a society where all sorts of bad things happen at schools.
Merely throwing her out of a chair is being kind.
In my opinion, the department will wind up paying the officer and only fired him in order to reduce what they
may have to pay the student once scapegoated by the school district.
If you don't desire police to do their job, don't summon an officer. If you want school counselors, summon
them. Either way, this problem was immediately solved and there's whining from the peanut gallery as to how? South Carolina? I'd bet this distills to someone trying to protect their political ambition, not appropriate response. Any wagers this is an ELECTED Sheriff who fired Officer Fields?
Currently, students have rallied in
support of the released officer.
