1. I'm in a room full of potential minor victims.
2. The situation has deteriorated to the point I've been summoned.
3. My intervention criteria has already been met.
4. I don't get immediate compliance.
5. I'm doing this, solo, in a society where all sorts of bad things happen at schools.

Merely throwing her out of a chair is being kind.

In my opinion, the department will wind up paying the officer and only fired him in order to reduce what they may have to pay the student once scapegoated by the school district.

If you don't desire police to do their job, don't summon an officer. If you want school counselors, summon them. Either way, this problem was immediately solved and there's whining from the peanut gallery as to how? South Carolina? I'd bet this distills to someone trying to protect their political ambition, not appropriate response. Any wagers this is an ELECTED Sheriff who fired Officer Fields?

Currently, students have rallied in support of the released officer.

FACT CHECK:

I used 'us' exactly once is the message where you gigged me for using it 'persistently,' and I used to to refer to 'you and myself, not in any 'royal' sense.

So repeat that one again and I'll have to give you a 'pants on fire' badge.


(BTW, I've also heard it as "...to a dead horse." There is no 'one right version' of these folksy sayings. If you hadn't aged into such a conservative you'd have more tolerance for variety and stuff.)

Don't you think there are ways to be a 'broadsword' without flipping a kid on her head? Oh, that was being 'kind' according to you. And it would still be 'kind' even if he'd broken her neck of course. Of course, we know that 'flipping girls is kind' is about as true as 'shit is delicious.' I'll pass, eat it yourself.

Can anyone think of a reason that some students would come to the defense of the white cop/football coach, who flipped and threw around a black girl, in South Carolina? Anyone want to make a wild guess as to the complexion of every one of these 'some students?'

‘Officer Slam’ video teaches a lesson

The violence of the scene is matched by the irony of the location. Though it happened in a classroom, it was about how some officers refuse to learn. After so many videos showing police using excessive force, after all of the complaints, protests, media coverage and, in some cases, criminal charges against officers, some officers still revert to violence as a first option.

The student who took the classroom video, Tony Robinson, summed up the lesson he learned that is instructive for police as well. He said a police officer is “supposed to be somebody who is going to protect us, not somebody we’re going to be scared of.”

Brietbart's reporting, alas, is too partisan to be believed, but they had some interesting photos.

RT says 100's of students, MSNBC says 'about a hundred.' Which do you believe--the news outlet that keeps having journalists resign over the organization's ethics, or the one that will fire journalists who violate ethics?
