That you even have to make this point shows how idiotic the vigilante (good guy with a gun) solution is. It is like pointing to the sky and having to tell someone it is actually blue.
WTF

Maybe fewer people are dead?
That is what the police are for. Taking your spurious logic to its conclusion we might as well station an armed, trained policeman in every public space in America. EVERY SPACE.
We know that is impossible. Having someone there with a possibility of stopping it before anyone else is killed or wounded is a better alternative IMO.
Ridiculous logic. You know what the real problem is.

I guess we will have to agree to disagree.

Thank you and it really has grown tiresome. My favorite is the "Good guy with a gun stops bad guy with a gun." meme. Just think about how it might be if we have controlled the proliferation of the damn guns to begin with......Thanks, 2nd amendment, you're a real stroke of genius!
They don't want to hear it because they have the mentality of six year olds who think mommy is about to take their toys away............
And maybe it's long past time she did?

You can't reason with the NRA. It is like talking to someone in a rubber room. They sounds reasonable and sane, until you notice the
upholstery on the wall.
It is easy to be abstract when of course it is not your child lying dead on the floor.

I suppose what's going to happen is we are going to have to have the same kind of security at movie theaters as we do at airports.
Not that that's going to bother me.
The last time I was inside a movie theater it was to see Forest Gump.
That was what?
Thank God (whom I don't believe in) for Netflix and Amazon Instant Video.

I only went in the gym once when I was over there.
It was either at Cam Rahn or DaNang, I forget.
I was thinking about maybe lifting some weights.
When I got there there were four or five big black dudes taking turns bench pressing 300 plus lbs.
I thought about asking them "Hey guys, would you mind if we took off a couple of hundred lbs so I can do a set?
But I decided not to.
I never went back.

Iraq population wise is about the size of Texas give or take...25 million people live in Iraq. Imagine that ALL of the gun deaths in the USA were concentrated in just one state. It would feel like Iraq if you lived in that one state. The presence of intense religious sectarian anger of course would not be present like Iraq. And you might or might not hear gunfire at night. However you would probably know someone who was killed by gunfire. And you would be living in fear all the time.
America culturally, economically and religiously is much different from the Middle East so the violence here is not really tied to those issues (I guess who knows what it is really tied too). What has probably saved us from the fate of the Middle East is the separation of Church and State and the concept of a loyal opposition within a republican Democracy.
And of course our great economic prosperity.

Everyone is a good guy to begin with. Good guys get guns, since it is our right. Some good guys become bad guys. So now you have a bad guys with guns. Now we have a problem. Solution is to sell more guns to the good guys to protect against the bad guys. We will now have more bad guys with guns in the future.

I will call this the mushroom effect.
And why these shooters only men? Don't women have psychological problems too. For that matter we all do to a degree but not all of us act out. Resentment is a bitch.
