Yes, it is. But only because the 2nd Amendment was a stupid mistake and the dogged defense of it is even worse. And America is full of childish people who love their guns.

There is only ONE reason why we have such a horrendous problem with incidences of GUN violence in this country compared to other developed nations. And NO, it isn't because we have a higher percentage of crazy people in this country. It's because we do nothing to control gun proliferation.

The guy fired thirteen times, duration unknown. I find it highly unlikely it would have made a difference were he surrounded by a SWAT team in a theater: initiative wins.

We also don't know that he is shooting at you. There were several people in the theater, he couldn't target everyone at the same time.

You are probably right in the last paragraph but I, for one, would rather there were someone there that at least had a chance of stopping him. IMO that would be better than being slaughtered like sheep.

What is incorrigible is that if we are indeed a western civilized nation, why don't we look at other western nations for solutions. I probably know the answer, "Guns don't kill...................", and we are not followers.

Or, as someone once stated; "Crazy people don't realize they are crazy."

We think other countries are f**ked up because they have strict gun controls and less gun related violence. Thank "God" the founders had the "wisdom" to create this mess and the Republican Party protects it..............

You hear a shot ring out from behind you.

You draw your weapon, stand and turn as a second shot rings out.

This time you saw a flash.

Is that the shooter or someone shooting back at the shooter?

Now add another shooter....two more......three more.............

Encouraging more amateurs to carry loaded guns everywhere they go and play cowboy is a stupid fucking idea.

Even if someone shoots back the victims are still dead. How does that make any sense?

That is what the police are for. Taking your spurious logic to its conclusion we might as well station an armed, trained policeman in every public space in America. EVERY SPACE.
