It's a good article barbara, but "dysfunctional" isn't even close to the appropriate terminology. I would suggest "psychopathological."

What is incorrigible is that if we are indeed a western civilized nation, why don't we look at other western nations for solutions. I probably know the answer, "Guns don't kill...................", and we are not followers.

The problem with good guys with guns is crossfire and poor judgement re good guy vs perp confusion during and after.
Also,"good guys" with guns aren't always good guys.
Gun ownership should be a privelege, subject to periodic review. The wording of the 2nd doesn't prohibit that under the caveat of "good order and dicipline", afaik.
