Plan an event knowing it will draw he attention and ire of the Muslim community.

Invite dozens of armed individuals to attend the event.

Invite the media.

If or when Muslims show up to confront or, unfortunately, attack the event attendees the stage is set for quite a show, now, isn't it? Proof that Islam itself is evil and all Muslims are terrorists who wish to kill "freedom loving Americans".

It was orchestrated, people. Notice the shooters had to come all the way from Arizona. Local Islamic leaders advised their folks to resist the urge to protest the event.

Because they saw it was a deliberate provocation.

Have a nice day.

Dave

Free speech is free speech. If it's provocative it's too fucking bad. "Piss Christ" was free speech. Fred Phelps practices free speech. George Lincoln Rockwell and Malcolm X were practicing their right to free speech and were murdered for it.

American flag "desecration" is free speech. What those who would limit flag burning or any other free speech constantly forget is that more than anything, the US Flag stands for the right to walk on, piss on, and/or burn down the US Flag. Tough shit if it's "provocative", get the fuck over it. This is the USA, Germany, The Netherlands, Belgium, France... not Gaza City for christ's sake.
Agreed Ike.

However, I have no sympathy for Fascist assholes who set stages to get worldwide attention, prove their point and draw more people into the fold, either.

Look how well it worked.

Yes, they have rights. But, I wish the media would ignore them. We should ALL ignore them.

IMO, yet to be seen, they (ISIS) will retaliate.

When you have two parties that want to fight, fighting and more fighting are likely.

John I am quite certain that by now you realize that your sympathy or that of any others who indulged in name calling while I was away is about as important to me as yesterday's news.

I do realize that expecting people here to be knowledgeable about Quebec is a stretch since they saw very little about it from the brothers on the Great White North show.

Why do you cling to the past?

Whatever John immediately jumped on it because I had not run it past Scopes then DQ maligned my cousin – although he later danced around his words rather that simply apologize.

I will try this once more with very simple words so that you can all understand. I do not hate Muslims. I do not love them either as we have absolutely nothing in common. I found my own version of organized religion false and so left the Church. I find their organized religion to be barbaric, especially their Sharia Law.

On half a dozen occasions Muslim men have accosted my wife, one even knocked her to the ground in his rush to get his suitcase from the carousel at National. Not that American men have treated her with the utmost courtesy as they have not. The next one who tries anything is going to be in for a hell of a shock – quite literally.
Hello Rob, glad to see you. I definitely regret things getting so upset. At the risk of being said to be dancing again, I will try to clarify a little.

I continue to think my observation regarding your cousin was not as insulting as you insist. But there was no real need to ponder the reason for your trustworthy cousin's sending a false report, so I apologize for going there.

Likewise, my initial intent was not to denounce you as an awful person, which you are not. I just wanted to give you feedback on a drift in your rhetoric that alarmed me. I stand by my comment, which was that what you employed a turn of phrase I know from the speech of angry racists. Doesn't mean you are one, and I didn't say that. I expect at this point you are not open to any such feedback from me, so i won't trouble you with such in the future.

Good to see you back, in any case.

I suspect you are in a minority with that opinion.

But I do hope I have made myself clear as to using any phrase used by racists I am unaware of it and many of my friends in real life would have a good laugh if anyone was to accuse me of being one.

Look, thirty two years ago I met this lady, after two months of correspondence she agreed to marriage. She has made my life so blissful that I simply do not have time for aggravating people. Elizabeth Barret Browning summed it up beautifully;

"I love you not only for what you are, but for what I am when I am with you."

... and that gives me an idea for the card I must make for her upcoming birthday on the 29th.

Hi Rob.

I'm sure you will do well with the card.
