The techniques are certainly capable of detecting such things in general--if the people responsible want to detect them. THAT little factor is the jagged flaw in your logic.

To elaborate a little, I suspect the whole reason there is a sizeable minority population in Zion is that it is a very old town, with a central housing stock consisting of houses mostly quite small and over 100 years old. It's poor folks who are attracted by the low rents of such a place.

But the street pattern on the NW side indicated a much more recent housing development. Add the income data to that, and there you are.

if the case, this kind of area is a thing of the past. Poor people are being pushed out of all America cities and into suburbs where they can't even get around.

This "push to the suburbs" of the poor is expanding the divide more than ever as there are no services in the suburbs. Folks become stuck in their homes unable to get anywhere.
