Justus Howell 17 died from two gunshot wounds in the back according to the Lake County, IL coroner. He was being pursued by the Zion, IL PD who were called by a neighbor who reported hearing an argument and a gunshot. The cops say a weapon was recovered at the scene. So we'll see where this goes.

So far no street demos, no Jesse Jackson, no nothing beyond stories in the local news. Has anybody outside of the Chicago area even heard about this?

This account is very bare-bones. Need to know more of what the officers knew and saw, and what Howell did. So far the only clear facts are that

1) a weapon was discharged
2) officers arrived
3) Howell was chased and shot in the back

We need more than 1) and 2) to justify 3).

The above is more than enough, unless you desire for police to wait until an armed individual involved in an argument actively continues to fire a weapon in public instead of fleeing into the night with it so he can do it again... :rolleyes:

Just pondering Zeke...not complaining. I believe I provided a balanced OP. Including pondering the absence of the town of Zion, IL erupting in marches led by pious local religious figures who are utterly disinterested in any publicity, and only want justice and peace.
