But these groups got out of the inner cities eventually, while blacks have not. There are two basic theories about why this is:

1. It's them.
2. It's how others treat them.

This is another case where I think the either/or framing of the controversy is false. it's both.

The workforce at our plant is easily 90% black, there are virtually no black folks in upper management.

Some of these folks I work with have an excellent work ethic. I am especially impressed with the women who not only work full time, 12 hours a day in the humid, 110 degree summer heat and <20 degree winter cold, but take classes as well, while raising their kids with minimal to no help from state programs. It really is an untold story that people should hear. It definitely does not fit the narrative of lazy, welfare collecting baby factories.
