She was telling them one thing, and because of the lack of understanding of the terms she used, they mis interpreted it. That is exactly what happened during the trial as the interview linked above indicates.

Oh, I get it. I disagree that it was a "communication problem". I think this particular witness had a "credibility problem". Its likely that, if she had been pressed at the trial to give her definition of "craka", her credibility would have taken another hit.
