Anyone got a link as to how neighborhood watch organizations are constituted and how they are supposed to conduct themselves? Please no links to the KKK...
Back in Ottawa we were members of the neighbourhood watch and youu were vetted and give a sign to place in your window so that kids knew yours was a safe house to run to if needed. You sure as hell were not encouraged to go and get a gun and wander about the streets.

Yeh, but freedom means the ability to gun down people who scare you.

The right thing? This guy set a FL state record for reporting suspicious characters, all black men.

Yes, it seems without the panthers he would have been allowed to pull a fast one. The incident was no investigated, that was a big part of the uproar.

Thank God someone responded to the dad's efforts to gain attention for his son's needless slaughter.

I have seen no photos of him looking like a thug BTW, what does one look like? Oh yeah, they look like young black men.

Are you suggesting that because he is Hispanic he is not racist and or did not profile?

Zim has an inferiority complex that caused this killing. This guy is too consumed with his own perceived inadequacies to do the "right thing."

I don't know why you call it a circus but indeed this has drawn attention to the insane gun laws once again.

How is it rational to carry a concealed weapon, stalk a child, call the police incessantly at the sight of any young black man and shoot a child because he is slapping you around...???

Honest, there is nothing rational about him. The guy even gained over 100 pounds in a year! Hint, that is not normal. It is extreme as were his actions in regards to this and his constant patrolling and calling.

Nonsense, IMHO.

I am not concerned.

So we should not fight back at injustice?

Yes but this trial helps to restore that fairness.

Seems to me your argument is rationalizing a situation to fit your world view.
(not that we all don't do that)

I guess I should have just said, "I disagree" but I always over talk.
I'll admit, whenever it comes to rationalizing a situation in accordance with one's views, I'm far more guilty of it than you.

And after that cheap shot, I think I'll go to work.

Have a great day! I have 12 acres of land the government wants me to cut and spray that I have to go "deal' with.

Now I know, I need to listen to the 'right' people. Who will undoubtedly tell me themselves who they are

It's easy to second guess living in our suburban paradises. The fact remains that, if the police were doing their job to begin with why were there so many breakins there?

The KKK has no love of Hispanics either.

Meh.

Gun play accountability always devolves into situational use for justification. That said, If you CAUSED the situation wherein you had to use your gun, there is no justification for its use.

Even if we turn the black kid into a High Times Skittle worshiper with aggressive tendencies towards anyone who may be following him, the point remains that Zims had been told by legal authority to not do so. It doesn't really matter (as a model) if multiple warrants for violent criminal behavior were on the table for Trayvon due to prior activity, Zimmerman didn't know that and he hadn't done anything problematic on THIS night.

The rational idea from Zims that "I shot someone who was trying to injure me" is completely believable. That someone may have been doing so due to -- apparently valid -- fear CAUSED BY ZIMS HIMSELF warrants analysis.

Bottom line?

1. No gun, no death.
2. Zims is prime example of who should NOT possess a firearm.
3. This case is racially charged but should be about logic.
4. Logically, Zims was WAY outside his boundaries as a citizen.

What I get is that the trial is not over. All of the facts are not known by us... we weren't there. At any rate, I was speaking about what happens in the court room, not what happened that night. That's what I get and you don't.

All you need to know is that Trevon was a child eating skittles while skipping home happily and Zimmerman was an insane monster bent on killing him
