I have a mid '60's Remington 581 bolt action that shoots amazingly well. With Wolf Match Target, I can shoot 5-shot one-hole groups about the size of your pinky nail at 50 yds (Federal 711B shoots about 1/2"). I had some trigger work done on it and bedded/floated the action (probably unnecessary). It has only a cheesy Simmons 3-9x rimfire scope on it, but it seems to do the job. I refinished the stock with multiple coats of TruOil and it's very pretty indeed.
For whatever reason, I've end up selling every semiautomatic weapon (pistol, rifle or shotgun) I've ever owned. For that matter, I've also sold every automatic turntable I've ever owned.
