Sounds like George Orwell to me. Yes I can see why you would find my simile disturbing since the party hack in question is wearing a three piece suit with a big American flag in his breast pocket and comes from Texas.

When does the Tea Party's hatred of government, government regulation, rule of law, start to translate into hatred of the American government? When does it go from conservatism to destruction. Your tea party friends put 800,000 people out of a paycheck, forced private companies doing business with the Federal government to cancel contracts and lay off workers, and is now threatening the American economy with not expanding the debt ceiling.

Where is the patriotism in that? You answer that question.

Also, the Communists and the Fascists used the big lie. Look what it did to Europe.
Now we have Cruz, Bachmann, Gomert, and others using the big lie.

Big lie: cut food stamps for the poor we have a deficit. Of course Bachmann gets her farm subsidies.
Big Lie: Obamcare will hurt people. The truth: people will be able to buy insurance from (oh shit wtf?!?) PRIVATE INSURANCE companies. WTF.
Big Lie: Ted Cruz filibusters for 25 hours then votes for the bill he filibustered against!!!!
WTF?
Big Lie: We need voter suppression because of rampant voter fraud. The truth: the only actual case of voter fraud were committed by Republicans in 2012.

you see why I am upset with the Tea Party?
take it from someone who spent a bit of time in Iraq and knows what a patriot is (and I do not mean me) the head of the Tea Party Ted Cruz in NOT A PATRIOT.

Yes they were elected but that does not mean they can ruin our nation because they do not like a law.

Is Obama the other? I don't know but it is obvious a certain segment of the nation and the country have a major problem with him. To me "the other" is the Tea Party because they are becoming everything they supposedly do not like about Obama.

your damn right I hate them as a political party. I hate political parties that destroy a families economic security just because they do not like a law. I hate people who destroy things just because they can.
I don't know either.

I would like to make a point. I've never found anyone who I agreed with 100% on everything. Now I have one buddy with which we pretty much agree 80% of the time. But we've been getting drunk together for a good 35 yrs, and as much as I love him, at times he bores me to tears. In a way, it's like getting drunk by yourself while looking in a mirror.

I find it more entertaining to get drunk with my liberal buddies. Maybe that's why I waste so much time on this forum.

As a rule, we agree on what we want from society, and life. But we do parry over the best means to get from point A to point B. And as a rule, we reach for a consensus, as opposed to getting all pissed off at one another. Not that that doesn't happen at times. But I find these conversations to be far more interesting than those with my old buddy with whom we pretty much agree on everything. We are basically using one another as sounding boards...with predictable results.

Now please don't take my following statements as a personal insult, as they are not meant to be. These are only my observations, and as such, are certainly open for debate.

But, IMHO, you have already made you mind up, and should anyone disagree with you, you not only dismiss them out of hand, but become angry. Hell, I was pretty much the same way until I turned 50, and realized that I was nobody or nothing, and I really didn't know shit from beans. And getting all bent out of shape about is was the dumbest thing I could do. Anger is a self inflicted wound.

There's a lot to be said for being nobody or nothing, and dumber than a day old pig. You're not expected to hold they keys to the universe.

What's say we get along. Sometimes we agree, sometimes not.

But it beats the shit out of going through life with a bug up your ass. It's a fools burden, and one which can be left beside the road at any time. To everyone's benefit.

Now I'm 100% correct on this one, and one of the few statements from which I refuse to back down from.

And allow me to wish you an enjoyable evening, Kind Sir. Whether it is or not is entirely in your hands. I was miserable for 50 yrs, and most of it was due to what I allowed to clutter my mind.

Chas
