But it doesn't help when you have a bunch of ignorant knuckle walkers whom, due to cheap tricks like Gerrymandering, are able to wield far more political power than their numbers warrant, and are Hell bent on not only stopping progress, but also undoing all the positive progress we have made in the past 100 years or so.

Well expressed and my sentiments also. I have always maintained that gerrymandering is what skews (screws too) our so called democracy. It's a duocracy.
