It may be that one day the U.S. will evolve/choose a similar system - but it won't be done in one fell swoop in one election.

They are more civilized than us.
And they do things better than us.
But we can learn from them.
But it doesn't help when you have a bunch of ignorant knuckle walkers whom, due to cheap tricks like Gerrymandering, are able to wield far more political power than their numbers warrant, and are Hell bent on not only stopping progress, but also undoing all the positive progress we have made in the past 100 years or so.
