There is the rub - objectivity is non existent - thread after thread of quoted media, candidates devolves into "your lies are worse than our lies."

All that aside, this country is too large and too diverse to be managed effectively with a Euro style system - advocates of such a system would be better served to make their case State by State. Those efforts have already met with some success.
