The decision comes as conservative officials across the country have increasingly tried to limit the type of books that children are exposed to, including books that address structural racism and LGBTQ issues. The Republican governors in South Carolina and Texas have called on superintendents to perform a systemic review of “inappropriate” materials in their states’ schools

The skill of the artist is evident in the highly sympathetic image of the threatened mouse-people in the foreground. The stylized gothic Hitler-cat is likewise perfect. They want to ban this because it's too good.

An excellent analysis of the goings on in Anti-Maus Tennessee by Doug Muder in 'The Weekly Sift.' I think his conclusion can be summarized as 'unconsciousness Nazism,' though he doesn't totally rule out the conscious kind.
