I just saw an image of the Maus book cover. This explains a lot. Probably scared the sheeet outa the Righties.

The skill of the artist is evident in the highly sympathetic image of the threatened mouse-people in the foreground. The stylized gothic Hitler-cat is likewise perfect. They want to ban this because it's too good.

An excellent analysis of the goings on in Anti-Maus Tennessee by Doug Muder in 'The Weekly Sift.' I think his conclusion can be summarized as 'unconsciousness Nazism,' though he doesn't totally rule out the conscious kind.
