You got that right Ike.

When it comes to Israel you can't control your emotions.

You have more buttons on you than a Sergeant Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band Uniform. And it's just too tempting for me not to push them.

You're the one who was all so sure I'd never spent time in Texas. I lived 6 years in Texas and Louisiana.

I have also seen first hand the hopelessness and misery in the West Bank, something it's abundantly clear you haven't. I've been able to experience the humanity on both sides of the 30' concrete wall. What's sad about this conflict (and many others) is the dehumanization of each side's enemy.

Lastly, I have been fortunate to have traveled, worked and/or lived in all 50 states and over 60 countries. Such experiences tend to give those fortunate enough to have had them the ability to see the humanity (and inhumanity) that exists all over the world as well as recognize that most people generally want the same thing - to live with dignity, take care of their families, and get by. This generalization applies to most Israelis and Palestinians, even as they demonize and dehumanize the other.

It's easy to point to folks living in misery and say they want it better. Of course they want it better.

Then they elect and support groups like Hamas, or perhaps worse yet teach their children to hate?

From everything I've seen in this argument it does seem like many believe the rockets are actually justified. I can respect this argument but do not agree.

It's a very divisive topic. It would be a shame if it goes beyond the thread.

Well Pete, to me, there is a better case for justifying those rockets than there was for justifying our invasion of Iraq.

But you bought that didn't you?

I wouldn't say justified. But understandable enough that I don't think it's fair to say those that launch them are inhuman scum.

Of course, I'm pretty into non-violence. I think the Palestineans would be way justified in going total Ghandi non-violent non-cooperation protest.

Look who's talkin'. I may have buttons, but you got a big red level on the main breaker buss. Mine are easier to hit, but I suspect yours carry the bigger charge.
