I treat those stores the same way I do Walmart. Not a penny will I give 'em.
To use an old slogan, " Just say no, thank you!" now who can tell me the author of that one? Hint- the first name is not Nancy!

Then you would not want to go shopping with me. If I cannot find an American or Canadian made product I loudly ask "Is this Chinese junk all you carry?"

Ahhhh...but it is. I guess I look at things differently. IMO these stores are appeasement for BAD TIMES. Give the downtrodden shoddy... does not set well with me. Raise the bar with jobs and salary is uplifting!

Hows it working out?

Any of those Dollar Store employees living in $250k McMansions up your way? Buying new cars? Contributing to the tax base?

Doubt it. Actually, they probably draw food stamps.

Darn shame, people work and still end up on the public dole, isn't it?

Dang crotchety Canadian conservatives! I think you misunderstood me Rob, I won't even walk into those stores. Just seems counterproductive for me to patronize a company that engages in product dumping. Not to mention employing slave labor. (both here and in China) I would enjoy shopping with you. I think you would get a kick out of my antics in Home Depot, it's much the same as you. "All of these nails are pre-bent! Must be from Taiwan!!"

Actually I don't mind Taiwanese products, they usually are four levels above the Chinese crap. Taught more than a few of the software engineers, sharp bunch.
