I think death is far more certain with a gun added to the situation than without the gun.
But, I am in agreement that there are more facts to come out.

According to some reports/witnesses the kid had the upper hand. I wasn't there so I don't know. If Zimmerman thought that it was either the kid or himself what was he to do? Same question goes the other way. All we do know is that someone is dead and a lot of people who weren't there seem to know exactly what happened and are willing to act. No good can come from that kind of reaction.
