Now...I didn't expect the good all knowing Christian to come back to this as he's been called just what he is, Goebbels like.
I have to admit that the silence from the rest on this board is shocking at the least.

I only know one Mormon and he's a good dude. Christian as they come too, just believes there was another profit, that's all.

This the very thing that got my father to convert some forty years or so ago.
Growing up in North West Missouri with dirt floors, no running water or electricity he did a lot of reading(when the chores were done and the sun had not set). The main two books on the farm were the Bible and the Dictionary. He became quite versed in both. He said in the Bible God always had a prophet on earth. When he was looking for a church to join the closest thing to a prophet was the Pope but he knew the Pope was no prophet as he'd watched many a widow turn the family farm over to the Catholic church to by the poor dead mans soul from purgatory. This led to the LDS church as they were the only church with a prophet like God had always had.

Nope, this guy is dirt floor poor, and likes it that way. He spends most of his free time and disposable income trying to help drunks and addicts get clean.

Ha, dirt floors in 3 posts in a row now. I can remember my aunt sweeping her dirt floors. They were like concrete really. Her bathroom was outdoors too, and I can remember getting water for her from a well in the front yard. This was Southeast Missouri though.

He really is, he took me to my first "several" AA meetings when I was too drunk to walk, much less drive. He wasn't pushy at all, just let me know that if I needed a ride, he didn't mind taking me.

Had a 3XGreat Uncle who either joined the Mormon Church or arrived here in the U.S. under their auspices. Oddly Uncle Edward arrived at New Orleans aboard a Nova Scotia built ship. They took the steamer up to St. Louis and there was an outbreak of cholera on board and poor Uncle Edward died a month later. So I may well have Mormon relatives and nearly everyone who shares my surname west of the Mississippi is a cousin at some remove.
Having grown up in Quebec their attitude toward children does not sound much different than Vatican Roulette as preached by the Roman church. One of the things that makes me profoundly dislike this Cain character, he is dead set against abortion, even in the case of rape and incest. Why is it some men seem to think they know more about women's bodies than the women do? Enough that she was raped must she bear the perps progeny?
