You do realize, Pete, that their uprising was against a puppet installed by our own CIA (along with the British) over their democratically elected Prime Minister - and it was all about oil. In an indirect (or maybe even direct) way, we're responsible for the Ayatollahs in power in Iran.

I heard an interesting story about the welfare state that the United States has become. We would annually provide about $1.2 billion in aid to Egypt. In turn, Egypt would purchase around $1.2 billion in weapons from US manufacturers. Nice little welfare benefit for the military industrial complex is it not?
