I think that having the military retain control is the best that Israel could hope for.

Agreed.
Thinking about it, I bet the entire world ruling elite is having a cow, but Egypts' military is part of it.
During their announcement I was hoping they were saying 'in the days ahead, anyone who is for sharia is against our people', but lunch was over before they translated it.

Hopefully, this will somehow work out to be a positive thing for those in the Middle East.

I was real nervous at first, but I'm more hopeful this may be the case. We'll see. But I sure agree, those folks in the street might shoulda hung out 'till a date for elections was set at least. I'm not 100% sure this is over. I'm leaning that way, but military folks in that part of the world do have a bit of a record of kinda just taking over.

Clapper's statements about the Muslim Brotherhood being just a secular umbrella group and nothing to be concerned about should put everyones mind at rest.

Who was that other illuminary who admitted that he formulated his response from data he gleaned from watching the tevee news?

Oh, they are. Especially OUR government. How do you congratulate a people for overthrowing a ruthless tyrant------that you installed and supported for thirty years, and the whole world knows it?
I hate to say it, but we've done a lot of that, haven't we?

Hmm, not sure but hopefully he didn't have the title of anything similar to National Intelligence Director.

I think it was more like the Director of the CIA, but I can't remember offhand.
