Conspiracy?: Biden not only kept Trump's tariffs but ramped up curbs on chip sales to China. As a matter of fact Biden broadened Trump's attack on Huawei.

Whether the Dems care to admit it or not there is a commonality of action re China. Lloyd Austin and Rubio are on the same page...that China is where it's at.
Bravo to Trump he is prepared to take the heat for undertaking drastic economic action: an end to Globalization.
Well the US is one of the few countries that has everything, so it is better equipped to deal with this reset.

Really?

Sounds like an alternate reality.

If the US has everything as you claim, why do we import so much from other countries? Do we even make a light bulb?
Shouldn't we have learned from our Covid experience that we depend on China for most of our daily needs?

And why do we borrow so much money just to survive economically? Reality is that if we don't buy from China, the Chinese peasants will not have the money to loan us.

And what you call a reset requires a rebuild and Trump is is going to do that who is a frigging moron?

This is all about redistribution of wealth except in the wrong direction.

Do not speak of Chinese peasants. That's an outdated racist stereotype. China now is an advanced industrial economy.

The debt held by China is, for them, a sword without a hilt. Pressing us too hard on it exposes them to a big risk of renunciation. Very bad for everyone of course, but that certainly wouldn't stop Trump.

I remember reading a case study about how Phillips made a disaster decision to close one of the best light bulb factories in the world, in the US, in favor of building a new one in Mexico. They lost their shirts trying to get the new Mexico thing working right. It was a study in corporate governance gone dysfunctional which happens a lot. Corporations are no more deserving of unchecked power than anyone else.

In the era of tRump the tRumplican party has convinced MAGA Americans that immigrants (illegal and otherwise) are the boogieman. The truth when revealed is quite the opposite.

I apologize and was sarcastically using the term from Vance's recent remark.

China slams JD Vance for calling Chinese people ‘peasants’, Beijing calls him ‘ignorant and disrespectful’

Quote:
“To make it a little more crystal clear, we borrow money from Chinese peasants to buy the things those Chinese peasants manufacture,” he added.
