I only call it out when I see it. i.e. it's not MY over-use.
I'm really trying to have a discussion on the issues. I keep throwing things out there that might prime the pump, but it just never really gets any traction. Nobody want's to do any more than insult "the opposition".
And it is not lost on me that whenever a "thinking Democrat" or conservative tries to have a discussion here, they just end up walking away, leaving the same, tired circle Jerk, with me as the "loyal opposition". But even I get my fill of it sometimes. I have hope in my fellow man and I expect that the young guys here will eventually mature, as I did when I was one. I thought that article (and other things I've referenced, will sink in at least a little bit. But I suspect few people actually read any of those articles or watch any of the videos. But "few" is more than "none". So here I am.
Didja ever wonder why I'm right so often? It's not me. It's the quality of my news sources. As I've mentioned before, I dumped TV in 1997. I have news sources from all over the world with a myriad of takes on each issue, allowing me to determine the "truth" from all the facts from all the diverse sources.
Plus, way back in 1964 my 4th grade teacher taught us about press bias with an excellent exercise. It was a simple story about a man breaking into a bakery and stealing a loaf of bread. One news story was sympathetic to the bakery, and the other was sympathetic to the thief. It was a solid lesson, that a fourth grader could understand, regarding bias in the press, and how you can clean it away from the facts in a news story, regardless of the source.
And, as I used to tell my daughters when they were kids (they are all over 40 now), the press is not only biased in how they present news stories, but also in what stories they choose to report. And I, as a news consumer, get to choose what stories are important and what stories are fluff.
