What's wild is how the "hip" part of town has moved around over the years. Nowadays, the coolest part of town in terms of restaurants, bar and music for younger folks is around Shaw (the area around 14th and U) which was a hookers and heroin war zone back in the day. The area around the Navy Yard is also pretty popular. That area was worse than a war zone. And Georgetown is fairly calm and no longer the destination for every teenager and college kid looking to party on weekends.

Nope. I've asked the same question a few times now in this thread. Still haven't gotten an answer from anyone that demonstrates knowledge of her policy positions. Speaking of "a tad unfair", I've asked a simple question, and I get grief for asking the question.
She's out campaigning, but even the sympathetic press has noted that she's not making herself available for interviews. This story from the NY Times just dropped yesterday.
The press has questions for Vice President Kamala Harris. She isn’t giving a whole lot of answers.
In the nearly three weeks since President Biden withdrew his candidacy, catapulting Ms. Harris to the top of the Democratic ticket, the vice president has shown little eagerness to meet journalists in unscripted settings. She has not granted an interview or held a news conference. On Thursday, after a rally in Michigan, she held her first “gaggle” — an impromptu Q.-and-A. session — with reporters covering her campaign.
It lasted 70 seconds.
A candidate for President is out campaigning, but not able or willing to articulate what she stands for?

You call that a news conference?
Our friend here is repeating the tRumplican narrative that VP Harris is afraid to answer questions put to her.
Letters to the Editor: No, Trump didn't 'answer' questions at his rambling news conference

And how did that work out for him? You seem oblivious to the fact that the objective of the Harris campaign is to win, not to please the press or MAGA malcontents like you.
She now has a very experienced and competent campaign staff who support this objective and I suspect they are content at the moment watching the Trump campaign flail and Trump.respond in a self-destructive manner and having his shit-show dominate the news cycle. It is working brilliantly thus far and I think that this is the basis of your complaint.

Here is her answer, which you omitted and I had read that article.

Asked on Thursday if she might sit for an interview anytime soon, Ms. Harris suggested that she would get through the convention first. “I want us to get an interview scheduled before the end of the month,” she said, as aides signaled to the scrum of journalists that question time was over.
|
Its during the convention that the platform is formally presented and accepted. That's when talking points are developed and marching orders given. You are pissing in the wind as usual.
Btw, she is campaigning to win (not to talk policy or answer questions) so she is taking directions from her campaign managers and handlers which is the way national campaigns are conducted. If I was her manager, I would ask her to begin every campaign appearance with the question, "do we want to elect a felon for the nation's highest office"?

Randy Rainbow says...

Summing it up nicely, as usual.

No, I didn't say that at all.
I am agreeing with the NY Times that she has not articulated her position on key issues and has not made her self available to the media. You can try to spin it, but that just tells me that either you can't read, or you don't want to acknowledge basic facts. I don't really care which, so I'll let you decide.

I'm agreeing with the NY Times observation that Harris has not articulated the her positions and has not made herself available. Are they "Maga malcontents" too?
You stated that the objective of the Harris campaign is to win, stated in the context of her not making herself available to the press. If you're suggesting that avoiding the press is part of her election strategy, then maybe you're on to something.

Ah, so she's a blank slate with no opinions of her own on key issues, and must wait for the Democrat convention in order to be properly programmed. Got it.
