Regardless, those choices are either unwilling or not viable. If the Dems had anybody suitable who wanted the job, he or she would have been trotted out last year.

Also my thoughts on why Biden had no competition. Out of respect and love for the man thinking he can win.

Last night showed he may not very well be the one. Time to say Joe you have served the country with honesty pride integrity selflessness all these years. Do you really want to remembered by history like RBG and stay too long?

Disagree. Sitting presidents run unopposed, the fear being that a down and dirty primary fight will divide the party. I do not agree, since we will always wonder who else will be a better candidate, but it is what it is in a Duopoly.

We, the Dems, need a star. Joe ws our star in 2020 but we need a younger candidate to assume the mantle. Although I'd vote for Harris for pres. in a heartbeat over any Repub out there I don't think she's electable. IMO the party should have been grooming Joe's replacement all along. A plan B if you will.

All that said, I'm with Bill Maher:

"I'd vote for Biden's head in a jar of blue liquid before I'd vote for Donald Trump."

Everybody is comparing the difference between Biden's performance during the debate and his fiery performance the next day. I haven't heard anyone mention that he was reading off of a teleprompter in N.C..

Apples to oranges.

I have -- a talking head on Chris Wallace's CNN show this morning pointed out exactly that, with the same conclusion.

There's a marked difference between reading off a prompter and dodging and weaving, thinking on your feet and reacting to challenges in real time.

I understand loyalty and wishful thinking.
Nice when there is time for it.

This is a fight between the light and the dark. No time for good intentions over the tough decisions needing to be made. Close to equal segments of the country have picked their man. Neither one in a majority so those left are the deciding voters.

The Biden voters would in all likelihood move to a center left replacement candidate if handled with respect to along with his support and consent. Picking up a younger candidate with little time for the propaganda disinformation machines to do their dirty work the better. Could be the difference needed for a win.
