Many 1022 owners would modify the rifle to look like a "Assault Rifle" then and now.
Short or collapsible stock banana and drum mags flash hinders even a rapid fire device you cranked on the trigger. Just to name of few of the many.
With a drum of 100 rounds even a .22 in the wrong hands is a formidable weapon.
