Of course it is and that's why they hate it. Remember when I told Conservatives on here that the slave driving Plantation owners were really little more than businessmen doing exactly what many businessmen today would do if they could? Their f**king heads exploded because they know it's true.
It's simple. The tendency will always be to cut costs, gain greater control over workers and working conditions. Take away government oversight, the ability of workers themselves to push back and watch what happens........
Welcome to the f**king plantation.

I had the thought that if it forces them to move away from the bigots in their party, even just a little, it's a good thing. But, then I realized that this would only last until the next election cycle if that long. By then, the moronic bigots will have forgotten all about this and the GOP will start dog-whistling them again, anyways.

The pic? Nah, I'm not saying it either.

You mean like what happened to the meat packing and poultry industries during the height of the pandemic? Like that?

Yes.
Or the poultry plant in North Carolina were something like 107 worker burned to death because the plant manager had the fire exits padlocked.....
Bastard was worried about people grabbing extra smoke breaks.
No, that doesn't happen here, because our businessmen love us. Just ask any dumbass Trumper.

I was surprised I didn't know about that poultry plant fire, so I looked it up. Casualties weren't quite as bad as you remember--not over 100 killed, there were only 81 working in the plant. But if those are only 11 made it out unhurt, and 25 were killed. As the Smithsonian article talks about, it goes to show nothing has changed since the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory Fire in 1911. Business is business. If you don't make them give a shit about anything but money for owners, they won't.

BTW, exactly one guy took the fall in court for the locked exits and everything else. He got a sentence just shy of 20 years, which probably sped up his eligibility for parole. He got out after four.

Thanks for the correction. Only four years for endangering 81 people and killing 25...... What a damn shame.

Good ol' Ron Johnson attempted to capitalize on the holiday by appearing at a Wisconsin celebration. It Didn't go so well.
Senator Ron Johnson Loudly Booed At Milwaukee Juneteenth Celebration
Quote:

Johnson was not pleased, complaining to the Journal that his reception is “not how you heal a nation.”

This from the senator who's trying to whitewash tRump's insurrection and is still promoting tRump's big lie..
