If there is a loving all powerful all mighty one and a heaven after death.....as a core belief?

Accepted as facts.

Then what would happen to the child?

Go straight to heaven?
Not to suffer life's turmoils.
Get used in another body?
Nothingness?

If not truly a believer, rather deep down unsure of one's believes. Thinking that this is it, nothing after. One shot at a life. Then their argument would seem to be a more powerful one.

For myself knowing that it always and will happen, just needs to be controlled.
There is no logical salvation/damnation doctrine for unborn embryos, because there is no logical salvation/damnation doctrine for anyone. In the end, all the theology boils down to 'He's God, He can do whatever He wants ' Which of course leaves me somewhat aghast at many things he apparently wants.

What also just erks me to no end about the devout so calling themselves religious.

There are so many willing to give the church it's tithe for a belief or concept. Then fight tooth and nail when the state wants their taxes.....for a tangible here right now benefit.

Yep. A woman told me; "It was Gods challenge for you.", in reference to my bout with Covid-19. I walked away thinking, "Does she realize she just told me what an asshole God is?" What could the point of that "challenge" possibly have been? He wanted to see if I could choke down food that I couldn't taste or smell for a week? Rise to the occasion of staying nauseous the whole time? Bless me with cold shakes and a 104 degree temp? Gee thanks for that!

Some of the 'challenges' are hyper sadistic. Bone cancer? If I was designing a biology, I think I might just leave that out.

The church has been more successful than the state in making people feel righteous for contributing.

Or maybe there is a faction using the narrative of fool are you if you do....when paying your fair share to the state.

That would be "the anointed ones" telling you what he wants. Their interpretation of it as it were. Why does God need an interpreter? After all we have the instruction manual.
On abortion, why is the government involved in making it illegal or difficult to get? So the "church" can have the government enforcing its will. Who is the separation of church & state getting in the way of? The church that wants to control government or the government that wants the church to deliver a monolithic block of votes? These get togethers with the GOP'ers and the evangelicals. A pair of predators eying one another.

Belief in any religion requires a leap of faith, a point where the illogical, the nonsensical and the horribly abusive are blindly accepted as ""Taking the good with the bad.". People have been unjustly oppressed, tortured and killed because of this for millennia. Because a "loving God" decreed it to be so...... Or, at least that's how the priests and prophets interpreted it after consulting with golden calves, rooster entrails, the voices in their heads and flaming shrubberies.

That's how I see the purpose of the Church/State Separation and believe it must stay firmly in place....... It's really a wall between the Michelle Bachmanns, the Marjorie Taylor Greens, the Kenneth Copelands of this world and the rest of us who just want to be left the f**k alone.
