Do you honestly see no similarity?

What should the reaction on the left be? If they stayed quite during such hate filled speech would they not sin by omission?

Truth is, Pete, that the "Ground Zero Mosque" and all the Sharia Law hullabaloo was concocted and is being sustained specifically as a wedge issue for November. Conservatives aren't all ignorant, hateful hicks - just the ones that buy into this manipulative nonsense.
I'll stipulate that both parties concoct issues aimed to benefit themselves at elections. It's just that this one is particularly cynical and insidious both in how it has divided the nation over something that no one, even the party of strict constitutionalism , can find any legal argument against and how it actually helps our nation's enemy demonstrate that we are, in fact, in a war against all of Islam.

Do Christian radicals like the people who bomb abortion clinics or murder doctors use churches as their base? Maybe we should protest the construction of new churches.

Knock yourself out.
There have been similarities, but it's all relative.
And you lefties, don't kid yourselves, your leaders whipped up hatred for Bush like the experts they are.

No Pete, absolutely not true Pete.
There was never a movement to make Bush fail and this inspite of the fact that his presidency was not legitimately elected. The right was clamoring for Obie to fail and told to stand in his way before he even took the oath.

Who would those leaders be, Pete? How did they "whip up hatred" for him?
Even if the "Leaders of the Left" did - which they didn't - their target would have been one man and would have been in response to his deeds. What we're seeing now is the leaders of the Right, both elected and self-appointed, stirring up hatred for roughly 1/4 of the world population because of the actions of a few hundred lunatics.

Starting a war on false pretenses at the expense of over 100,000 lives and hundreds of billion of dollars is something that should upset people who have a conscience.
As for Obie, he had the unmitigated gall to push for legislative achievements that he campaigned and won on.
Talk about moral relativism.

Maybe it's time to hate all Mexicans?
Look what a group of them did. They acted as the Taliban.
