On the other had, if we did the opposite of what the left likes to do, and focus on those things that make us more alike than different, I suspect we'd find less division far more cooperation and success.

I guess the irony of a candidate whose campaign had racism and xenophobia as its central focus now saying that patriotism will alleviate prejudice is completely lost on you (just as I predicted).

Your vignette above, as nice as it is, does nothing to diminish the racist, xenophobic nature of Trump's campaign.
