Donald Trump's appeal is no more than a large segment of the population being so sick of the professional politician, news personality, and pundit that they could puke. In the meantime our standard of living has been declining for about 40 years. Bernie wants to tax it out of the rich and redistribute it which sounds good, but it will simply never happen. Seems like the hardest lesson for politicians is that the more you tax something the more it goes away. At this point I don't think anybody can do anything about it. If you try to bring manufacturing back by increasing tariffs it is going to really hurt the WalMart shoppers long before it creates any jobs. You need to go back 40 years or so and kick the asses of the leaders who let it happen to start with.

To be precise, 36 years.

Your subtlety may be lost on him, but the GOP idiotocracy indeed took root in 1980.

I've been wondering for decades how long it would take for the bubbas to realize that they've been played like fiddles by the GOP elite. I still don't think they fully understand the depth of the ruse, as they are nominally still Republicans. The bubbas' racism and xenophobia probably still prevent them from getting on board with the party that represents the working man, so it will take a while for this whole mess to shake out. The convention in Cleveland will be a (sorry) spectacle to behold.

I think the "about 40 years" meme is in pretty wide circulation these days. It's too late and things have gone too far for people to deny the disastrous consequences of Reaganomics/Thatchernomics so the deal now is to push the beginnings if it back "about" 4 years so that the Republicans can imply that the whole mess is Carter's doing.

Trump Insists ISIS Attacked Him In Dayton (They Didn't)
Quote:
Donald Trump bought into yet another Internet conspiracy over the weekend, this time insisting that he was attacked by ISIS instead of an ordinary protester at a rally in Dayton, Ohio .
This is no longer entertainment, this is getting very serious. This is getting downright dangerous for any protesters at Trump rallies. He continues to make groundless accusations and his supporters are falling for it. I think Bernie should ask his supporters to stop protesting at Trump rallies. What's the point? Only helps promote Trump and his fascist-racist message.

This reminds me of the slogan "Die Juden sind unser Unglück!"

So the level of Trump's sort of Goebbels agitation will for sure get more and more evil in the next months.

This is a very serious thing.

Tommy DiMassimo turns out to be a likable, well-spoken fellow! I enjoyed hearing from him. And everyone keeps calling him 'the attacker,' but that's wrong. He didn't attack anyone, and wasn't going to attack anyone.
