Looking back the fatal error was the other candidates getting on the same stage as Trump when they did their debates. A united front of unconditional opposition to sharing the same stage with Trump would have sucked the air out of him. Hindsight is 20/20.

Maybe Trump will drop his Presidential bid if he runs into a younger, prettier country. Costa Rica, you listening?

Very good point and once the media circus started, addiction by and for the media took over. Drama and insanity trumped any rational discussion of policies and political food fight on stage prevailed. How else could be that the three least qualified candidates are still left standing with a mad dog leading the pack.

Pressured by party, Trump signs Republican loyalty pledge
NEW YORK | By Emily Flitter

Republican front-runner Donald Trump on Thursday bowed to pressure from the party establishment and signed a pledge not to run as an independent candidate in the November 2016 presidential election.

His vow of loyalty on Thursday was something of a victory for the Republican National Committee in its efforts to rein in the billionaire, who leads opinion polls while at the same time upsetting mainstream Republicans with his brash style.
