I have done some thinking about what I would do if I were caught in a situation like that and I had my gun with me.

What I have determined is that if I was far enough away to survive the initial attack the first thing I am going to look to do is exit that place ASAP. If that's not a viable option I'm going to look for some cover and get down low and try to hide. Then I'll take out my gun, cock back the hammer and stay put hoping to get a clear easy shot at the shooter from an ambush position. And then only in defense of myself or any members of my family that are there. I would not risk giving away my position by taking a shot to defend any strangers that I don't know. I'm looking to survive, not be a fucken hero. Of course I can never know what I would actually do unless I was in that situation, but I hope to Hell I wouldn't try to gunfight the guy like John Wayne.

I'm just being honest here. I doubt seriously any of these macho gun nut idiots would do any different.

Sorry, your logic above seems reasonable though damage has probably been done. Best solution may be to have a sniper in every theater next to the projectionist (or is that automated?). Will create a lot of jobs for returning veterans who are sharpshooters (not kidding). Of course, the movie goers would dwindle if that happens.

I just do not like going to theaters, last two movies I saw in a theater were 'Driving Miss Daisy' and 'Slumdog Millionaire'. I do have a decent home theater setup, but of course the sound nor picture quality will ever come close to a theater, especially from streaming.

OK but we all know the point constantly being made by the right has nothing to do with your point. What we're hearing is that the gun toters will be stopping the carnage.

You know the more I think about it, I believe I'd be more likely to act heroically if I was unarmed.

You are probably right. Metal detectors in theaters may just be the only option. Too easy for a wacko to shoot at people in a dark theater and very few will know what is going on till too late.

I know that we have to go through metal detectors for NBA games in the Oakland Arena for quite a few years now.
