But we also care about setting the record straight. Investigators have overwhelmingly rejected witness accounts that Brown had his hands up in a surrender before being shot execution-style. The DOJ has concluded Wilson did not know whether Brown was armed, acted out of self-defense and was justified in killing Brown. The majority of witnesses told federal investigators that the initial claims that Brown’s hands were up were not accurate. “Hands up, don’t shoot” did not happen in Brown’s killing, and it is a characterization that deserves Four Pinocchios. Politicians should step carefully if they try to highlight this expression in the future.

That would be my experience as well. And I'm sure I'm not the only one who's notices that it doesn't seem to be much of a problem with the rank and file hereabouts until somebody decides not to lay down and die behind it...and throws back.

That said...right at the beginning of this thing here's what I said...

If you don't want to end up with your face in the pavement, blood flowing down your face, and getting cuffed with a knee on the back of your neck...just do what the cop tells you.

If you don't want to end up dead, don't go after a cop.

In Michael Brown's case he would be alive today and raking in a million bucks, like Martese Johnson will be doing before too long, instead of dead. But he was too stupid to limit his behavior to back talk and resisting.

This does not hold hard and fast for demented 92 year old's, or the mentally ill. Or when the cop has a history of abuse or racism. Nor does it hold too well when a specific community's PD has a documented history of abuse and rampant profiling.

How to make a million - back talk/resist LEO. The prerequisites are but two: do it in the right place and be appropriately groomed/dressed.

When Martese decided to stand up in front of the student body and do the 2015 version of Rodney King (Can't we all just...uh...get along?)...he did have the opportunity to actually owned up, y'know? But no way. Where's the money in that? No money in saying...listen y'all go back to class where you belong.
