Because a lot of people like to have their beliefs, right or wrong, confirmed by like-minded people.

Well, y'know what they say...a belief is just a thought we keep thinking over and over. And we also know what sorts of screwy thoughts people keep thinking over and over. So finn probably thinks we should be reinforcing that. Why am I not surprised?

I didn't say I favored it. I was just saying that it is why people listen to Fox, MSNBC and talk radio.

Another side of the same coin is people feeling a need to shout down opinions that disagree with their own.

All right...my hopes and dreams are now officially crushed. Here we go.
But I gotta tell you, I'm never going trust anything you say you're gonna do...ever again.

And you were so trusting before. What a disappointment this must be for you.

Why believe facts when the voices in your head are louder?

You're talking about a public that believes the only thing that will "save America".........is lower wages, more war and mailing money to T.V. preachers. They watch Fox News, exclusively, because it's the ".... only way to get the TRUTH."
America has become an Idiocracy, Rob.

Count among the idiots both the heavy Fox viewers, and the medium or light Network TV News viewers, who catch an average of 6.2 minutes (medium), or .6 minutes (light) of news a day. To this legion add the legion that doesn't watch news at all--something around 30% of us.

Yet those people are better informed than FOX News viewers and almost as well informed as MSNBC* viewers.
*By the way, MSNBC isn't a news channel and doesn't claim to be.
