It's Stockholm syndrome commingled with an authoritarian personality. Zeke is a native-American in a society which is profoundly racist. His racist attitude toward African-Americans is an attempt to curry favor with the white power structure. (See? I'm a racist just like you!) The saddest part of this is his expressed contempt for AIM, Leonard Peltier, Russell Means and any "blanket Indian" who fights for their rights.
