Believe it or not, today's Post Dispatch newspaper had six pages of articles on the shooting, what's happening now in Ferguson, the lawsuits, the new killings, and an article about a cat that stepped in cow poop.

But Zeke and Merrylander say it's done.
For why it isn't done, see the thread about the poll that shows how opinion breaks on racial and political lines. This is a politically-charged argument, fueled by different views of reality, that are at odds with each other and cannot all be right.
Here, I'll show you.
Zeke and Finn, please answer the following question:
1. Do you think blacks and other minorities receive equal treatment as whites in the criminal justice system? Yes ! No

Bullshit. The lack of indictment was due to McCulloch's subornation of perjury.

You really think you're gonna get a straight answer to this question out of either of these two?

It's pretty much rhetorical.
The point is, everyone knows the answer to the question is 'yes' or 'no,' not both, and everyone is stuck on one answer or the other. So the discussion goes on and on.

As for the question only someone so wet behind the years that they should not be allowed out unaccompanied could possibly believe our "justice" system is equal and free of bias.

Generally no, but I don't project these feelings upon a specific case, preferring to focus on relevant, verified facts.
Also, I believe that blacks are more likely to be arrested for certain infractions (e.g., pot possession), but that this is partially a result of a greater police presence in the parts of cities with the highest crime rates. Once a suspect is in front of a judge or jury, I believe the criminal justice system fares better and is mostly color-blind.

I'm far less simple-minded and far more analytical than you, Ike. I make no apologies for that. While you may think all the complex issues of the day are black and white, I find many of them gray.
