In the meantime why don't some of you explain to me how the riots and demonstrations are going to help blacks rather than call me names for saying that it won't.

Explain to me how crying racism is going to help the inner city kids get out of the hole they are in instead of demonizing me for saying that it won't.

BULLSHIT.

I'm entitled (1A US Constitution) to point out how stupid that is, yes.
In truth the whole document is a pipe dream.

.
What else would you suggest? Peaceful demonstrations are routinely ignored and mocked, and the government is owned b corporate America and they certainly don't care so "going through the proper channels" is a fools errand.

Peaceful demonstrations didn't work in the 60's they won't work now.

The only thing that seems to work is hitting them in the pocketbook.

There's obvious truth to both statements. And if both the white and black communities don't realize (and act upon) the fact that both have contributed (and continue to contribute) to the problems in our inner cities, we'll have to remain satisfied with the status quo. Blaming the other guy exclusively will get us nowhere. It just builds resentment and a sense of moral superiority to the other guy.

Agreed, but each side is waiting for the other shoe to drop.

...or the other side to admit that it's all their fault.

One can argue that a lot has been done since Johnson's Great Society initiatives in the 1960's (something I learned a lot about at the LBJ Library in Austin a couple of weeks ago). What was also interesting at the Library was listening to a number of conversations LBJ taped with leaders and public figures of the day. One of many conversations I listened to was between LBJ and MLK after passing the Voting Rights Act of 1965. He basically said, "Martin, I busted my ass getting this done for you and your people. Now it's time for you to get your people to do their part by registering and voting."

In other words, LBJ said that we can help you to the extent that you're also willing to help yourself.

Dale Hansen (author) is WHITE. He eradicates his own white guilt points.

The only "execution" in Ferguson was of a good cop's career.
That cop has made enough money since the shooting to RETIRE. One interview alone brought him half a million. People have been sending him money......Just to be doing it, I guess?

Don't worry about Darren Wilson, he's gonna be fine.

There are more than enough people who see him as some sort of hero. Starting with the Klan..................
