The alleged robbery is a red herring however you present it. The officer was not responding to a robbery report. He was rousting a young man for jaywalking.

It appears to me the officer did not know Brown was a robbery suspect.

I will allow that Brown may have thought that he was being stopped for a more serious offense than walking in the street and may have tried to resist arrest and flee to avoid having to face those charges.

Still that in no way justify's him being shot.
