I remember landing in Phoenix a few years back to visit relatives. We were walking down the concourse to the baggage claim and I looked out a window across the airport and there was this dark brown cloud all across the horizon. I asked my sister-in-law what it was. She said it was "The Brown Cloud." I asked if it ever comes closer. She rolled her eyes and said, "It's everywhere. When you're looking through it, it just looks far away. When you're in Phoenix, you're in the brown cloud."
