It may be more true on civil cases. They're the only ones I made to voir dire on. On the several criminal cases for which I was called, I never made it out of the juror's lounge.

Was reading some in a book about 'argument' by a famous trial lawyer. It was all about winning by 'connecting' to the other with (ideally real) heartfelt passion, and well-chosen metaphor.
