DHS released a report in 2010 entitled “Rightwing Extremism: Current Economic and Political Climate Fueling Resurgence in Radicalization and Recruitment," in which it (correctly) identified right-wing terrorism as the biggest domestic threat (numbers in my previous post prove this). Predictably, the Right went ballistic and compelled the withdrawal of this prescient report.

Whell, you say there is nothing to link them to the Tea Party. What do you believe the significance of the flags was?

Apparently visiting the SPLC web site is the place to start.

Whell - what do you think the significance of the flags and swastikas was? Or are you saying they had no meaning at all?

You can keep asking the same question, but it's already been answered. See post 177 in this thread.

And you keep not answering it.
"What point would it serve to attribute intent to two folks who are at minimum prone to violence, and at max (and more likely) psychologically damaged."
That is you declining to answer. What do you believe the significance of the flags was?

Lets face it. You won't answer because there is only one conclusion. It is amazingly obvious. They used the Tea Party flag to say they were supporting the Tea Party movement. I mean... duh.
You don't agree? Then what do you think the significance of the flags was?

By so doing, we can judge the possible intent of others, others who use the same symbols to identify their ideology and affiliations. It seems probable that many of these others are prone to violence too. I can't say about 'damage' in any case, but it seems that the cop killers and other patriot movement persons share beliefs that strike me as illogical and divorced from reality. I include beliefs that government health programs will include 'death panels,' that the President is actually loyal to Moslem terrorist enemies of the United States, and that plans exist for UN forces to act to disarm Americans. Such beliefs could easily lead them to conclude, as the Miller's did, that violent action against government authority was justified and necessary.

Which means that to answer the question would be engage in speculation, and also may require knowing the mind of someone who may not be sane. But if you want me to speculate, i'll speculate. I think they brought the flags along and adorned the victims with them to purposefully fire up left wing nut cases and get them to speculate and rant about all kinds of lefty wingnut stuff.
There. And it's no more or less relevant than any of the lefty kook posts in this thread that attempt to speculate about motive.
