To me the military took care of me much better than the real world. Still does.
Plus it is hard to get fired if you are active duty, and you will never find the sense of camaraderie you do in the military. With the offbase housing allowance (tax free) an E-6 in Southern California makes about almost 5k a month.
Oh you may have to work over 40 hours (duty, deployments, etc) a week. But you will never get screwed out of your mortgage money by some bullshit flexing rules imposed by corporate in the name of saving money.

And, I have an older brother who still suffers from PTSD acquired in Vietnam.
Anyhow, you have given me food for thought. Thanks.
But, I still don't see Bergdahl as any sort of "hero".

No, problem...thanks.
As far as the "hero" issue, absolutely...way back when the subject first hit this forum, in my first post about it, I believe I mentioned that there were many questions about the nature of Bergdahl's capture and I said the same thing about jumping to any "hero" conclusions.

No argument there. But this stop-loss/re-deployment shit is just flat out bad. And we have the escalating suicide numbers and PTSD sufferers to proove it.

It was in the New York Times you go find it becaise I am not your servant. And it really has not been highly detailed but sure has been spun by the talking heads. Frex the WaPo only got around to printing that the 5 Taliban are effecrively quarantined in Qatar.

I see all other reports including soldiers actions in the incident are discredited by one report by the NYT.
A report you will not link us too, so your a liar and slander of good Americans.
