That's true as well but I'm talking about actual blue districts, mostly upscale urban districts where the more well to do Democrat residents therein are just as self-centered as the right wingers who want nothing to do with single payer and are more than happy with their corporate health insurance.

Could be.

I know some government bodies and corporations have been eating those double digit increases in Health Insurance Premiums instead of passing those costs on to their employees. At least not directly. The cost to the State of Florida for it's group PPO plan has gone way up, but the State kept the employee contribution the same. However they went six years running without an employee cost of living raise to make up for it.

But that can't last forever.

Sooner or later those chickens will come home to roost.

Here in Florida Rick Scott had been making noises about going to a plan similar to Ryan's Medicare Voucher plan.

He's shut up about it this year because he wants to be re-elected, but if he is, he'll make another run at it.

Translation - only a minority would vote Dem if the Dems told the truth about what they really are about.

If the Republicans told the truth about what they are really about they wouldn't make it out of single digits.

To be sure, they'd get the 1%. Beyond that, I don't know.

You're worse than 5 below. It's exceedingly bad manners to put your words in somebody else's mouth. And it's a habit with you.

I don't think I'm expressing what I want to say very well so, one last time with different phrasing...

I expect Republican politicians, teabag morons, conservatives and right-wingnut mutts all across the fruited plain to oppose a single payer government sponsored health care system. That won't change.

So I believe the reason we don't have that system is because there are too many alleged Democrats and liberals who don't want to give up their employment based BCBC/UHC/HUMANA/etc.,etc., cozy health care coverage and don't give a shit any more than the cons and Republicans for how many of their fellow citizens are going bankrupt or dying every year for lack of insurance coverage. If every progressive, liberal, and self-avowed Democrat had made it clear to their Senators and House Reps that they strongly support a single payer system we would be a lot closer to having it...we might have already achieved it.

It's the left's fault.
