Sure, but I'm OK if it's companies who manufacture items that compete for the public's discretionary income. Health care is a different issue to me.

I suspect (hope) it's not a majority but it is a majority of an identifiable group known here as "conservatives". They're the "Kiss Up, Kick Down Americans".

Pretty much any "system" instituted within the last 35 years is designed to enrich the already-rich. The oligarchs have been carefully tailoring our "democracy" to that end for decades.

That's true. Manufacture goods, more often than not, are not basic necessities. Healthcare pretty much is. Agreed.

To the point where half of us run to the defense of someone already incredibly rich, but celebrate the working poor getting f**ked over as if it's some sort of glorious patriotic endeavor. Hell, sometimes they even grin and high-five, when it's THEM that's getting f**ked.

I'm telling ya, John, sometimes I wonder when Rod Serling is going to step out of the shadows and tell me; "...this is the Twilight Zone.".

Well, well - 12 million insured per Gallup.

That one note tune of repealing ObamaCare that Repugnant party is counting on for the midterms may not have the oomph they're hoping for.

I know quite a few self-proclaimed "Democrats" who want nothing to do with single payer. And I believe that in addition to the "blue dogs" there are many dems in the US House from solidly blue districts that will not support single payer because they believe it will threaten their seat. I also believe they are probably right.

It's an unintended consequence of Howard Dean's "50 State Strategy". Fielding an electable Democrat in a red or purple state gets you a Congress(wo)man who talks like a Democrat and acts like a Republican.

Lieberman was the worst of the sell outs on health care IMO.

And there was no excuse for it.

Connecticut is a safe blue state.
