We found our old cat Maggie of The Kern River up at Limestone in the early nineties. She adopted us on one of our trips up there. Good ol' Tortie lived to nineteen years old in bliss.  |
Yes, we used to go up there with our beer occasionally, to escape the mid day heat.
Both the kids learned to swim in the Kern, right there at the park in town. There was a great rope swing at the downstream end of the park. You had to swim pretty hard after jumping off to get back to shore before the current pulled you down river.
